Nemo II Galápagos Cruise

On dit que rien n'est parfait, mais notre croisière de 4 jours et 3 nuits sur le catamaran Nemo II l'était. Le groupe, l'équipage, la nourriture, le guide et les excursions ont largement dépassé nos attentes. L'itinéraire prévoyait une longue liste de faune et de flore marines que nous pourrions voir et, à l'exception des requins-marteaux, nous avons vu tout ce qu'il y avait à voir. Nous avons même vu des orques et des albatros. Peut-être avons-nous eu de la chance. Un ami m'avait dit que les Galápagos étaient le seul endroit où l'on pouvait nager avec des otaries et des pingouins en même temps, ce qui semblait un peu tiré par les cheveux, mais c'est exactement ce qui s'est passé lors de notre excursion. Notre guide y est sans doute pour beaucoup. Son enthousiasme et ses connaissances font honneur aux Galápagos. Non seulement il s'est assuré que tous ceux qui le souhaitaient aient la chance de découvrir de près ces merveilles naturelles, mais il y avait souvent une photo de style National Geographic pour le prouver. Quatre jours, ce n'est pas long, mais pour nous, c'était juste ce qu'il fallait, je pense. Il y avait un bon mélange d'activités sous-marines et terrestres. J'ai été fascinée par les différents paysages et oiseaux de chaque île. Nous sommes tombés sur un super groupe de passagers - nous étions 13 personnes de six nationalités différentes et, pendant ces quelques jours, nous avons été une grande famille mondiale heureuse. L'équipage opérait discrètement et anonymement dans l'ombre pour s'assurer que nos trois repas étaient de la haute cuisine, le ménage de la cabine était fait par magie et le bateau gonflable (taxi aquatique, RIB, je ne me souviens plus comment il s'appelait) était toujours là pour nous transporter vers la prochaine aventure - et inversement ! Sur le papier, cela semblait cher, mais en réalité ce n'était pas le cas. Et l'avantage d'un voyage de trois nuits signifie que même si c'est censé être une fois dans une vie, nous le referions volontiers.

Onboard the NEMO II is an exceptional way to visit the Galapagos!! The crew is top notch, the excursions plentiful and onboard amenities lovely! Our guide, Jairo, was exceptional in welcoming us and weaving ecology, history and culture of the Galapagos into excursions and during gatherings in preparation for group activities. The entire trip was a highlight from guided trail walks, to dry and wet snorkeling, to sitting out on the upper deck gazing at the constellations we were surrounded by epic beauty.

Hitomi at Galapatours was a great resource for us. Super responsive and also very professional. The trip itself was wonderful, the food was great, the guide Jairo phenomenal and the visits to the various islands and the exploration of wildlife unbelievable. We saw hammerhead sharks, a large tuna jump on the horizon, twice, snorkeled and played with sealions, saw penguins eat and pelicans diving for food. Schools of stingray youngsters, sea turtles, 20 dolphins following our boat. Amazing. The crew on Nemo II was as excellent as the trip. WOW!

We had a wonderful trip to the north-western Islands of Galapagos with Nemo II. Everything worked out perfectly well from planing with Cynthia from Galapatours, start at the airport to the end of the journey. We had a very friendly and committed guide (Jairo) who took us to sensational places to see all kind of wildlife like eagle mantas, hammerhead-sharks, penguins, sea lions and all kind of birds and iguanas. The ship was well equipped with capable staff and a very good cook. We had a completed program every day including snorkeling, hiking, standup paddle und kayaking. We will surely recommend this trip to our friends. Thanks for all!

This was an absolutely fantastic trip. Seeing the Galapagos on the Nemo II was the experience of a lifetime. It was so intimate. There were 7 passengers to start and 10 midway through the trip. (It holds up to 14.) I guess you can't guarantee the mix of people but for most of the trip we had passengers in their 20s, 30s, 40s (or 50), 60s and me in my 70s. Later in the trip, a local family of a mom a teenager and an 8-year-old joined, too. Because I brought my 33-year-old son, I was worried that it would all be oldies like me, but clearly not. The food and snacks were great; not what you'd get on a mega-cruise, but delicious, local and plentiful. They also made sure they met everyone's food needs (all meals included a vegan option, a no-red-meat option,etc.) The guide was brilliant, personable and loads of fun. The variety of animals on land, on the sea, under the sea and in the air was incredible, of course. And taking in the giant tortoise sanctuary and the Darwin Center was important, eye-opening and informative. The Nemo II experience would not be for everyone, and the physical aspects of the trip can be moderately demanding. The rooms are "efficient", as are the private bathrooms (toilet, sink, shower). So you need to have a flexible attitude and be reasonably in shape. But if you meet those two criteria, you'd be crazy not to go! It appears that I can only share one photo, so it is one half of the dining area on the boat. If the other photo that I first loaded is showing, too, it is "Bobby and Booby".
